Sire: Mytens xx is an influential Thoroughbred sire approved by the KWPN and the Holsteiner Verband. An American thoroughbred, Mytens won three races and placed second in seven starts. Upon being imported into Holland, Mytens was ridden by Bert Romp in the Dutch National Stallion Competitions. He is the first thoroughbred to have completed all seven competitions, including the finals. Mytens is noted for his superb technique and great power. In 1999 the winner of the German Young Event Championship was sired by Mytens and in 2008 the Vice-Champion was a son of Mytens. Mytens' sire, Spectacular Bid xx, won 26 of his 30 starts, and had two seconds and one third. As a three year old, Spectacular Bid won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes. He was the Champion 2-year-old colt, Champion 3-year-old colt, Champion Older Horse, and Horse of the Year 1980. His pedigree can be traced back via Bold Ruler to the legendary stallions Nasrullah and Nearco. Mytens' dam, Photographic, is by Hoist the Flag xx, winner of five races in six starts. Hoist the Flag was Champion 2-year-old, leading 2-year-old sire, and later the leading broodmare sire. His sire-line traces back to the legendary Man O' War and Tourbillon. Photographic's dam, Talking Picture, was Champion 2-year-old filly, winner of six races in fifteen starts; she earned US$178,643 in prize money. We find the progenitors Nasrullah and Nearco in her bloodlines.
Dam: Dante was awarded the Ster Sport-Showjumping predicate by the KWPN in recognition of her success as an international showjumper for the Netherlands. Among her accomplishments are 4th in the Grand Prix of Brussels, 6th in the Grand Prix of Leeuwaarden, 1st in the speed class in Arnhem, 1st in the CSI in Hasselt, and 1st in the CSI in Lummen. Dante produced three progeny: Holiday, a 2003 colt named Washington, and a 2004 filly named Zidante. Dante is a daughter of the legendary sire Voltaire. Voltaire was one of the world's greatest sires and the Preferent star of the KWPN. Voltaire was the sire with the most offspring at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Moreover Voltaire was second in 1999 in the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses ranking of showjumping sires. Voltaire has 28 offspring jumping internationally and over 30 approved sons in Europe. Many of his offspring jump at Grand Prix level, i.e. Finesse, Altaire, Kahlua, Play it Again (the full brother to the dam of Pandina Bella), Helios, Electro, Especial, etc. Voltaire is also recognized as a sire of dressage horses. Foltaire is a famous offspring of Voltaire in the international dressage ring. Dante's dam is Urena, a Ster mare. Urena (who also served the AES studbook and is a Silver Medal Mare) is a Ster mare that produced the international showjumping mare Dante; Gaston, an L-level dressage and Z-level showjumper; Helma, an M-level dressage and M-level showjumper; Miss, a Keur mare and L-level showjumper; and Naturella, an M-level dressage and M-level showjumper. Urena's sire Naturel is a Keur sire of the KWPN and a son of the great Lucky Boy xx. This motherline has produced international showjumpers such as Dante and Dino; many national-level showjumping and dressage horses; the approved stallions Legend (KWPN-North America) and Versace (Danish Warmblood); the third round stallion candidate Simply The Best and the second round candidate Ranito; and many Ster, Keur, Preferent and Prestatie mares.
